Staff Training Week @ the University of Vienna
| 11. Juni 2018Many central Service Units hosted a Staff Training Week from June 4 to June 6 of 2018. 43 employees from 34 partner universities from Europe, Israel and China visited different university locations and exchanged with colleagues from the University of Vienna.
From June 4 to June 6 of 2018 many Service Units of the University of Vienna invited international colleagues to a Staff Training Week.
Vice Rector Jean-Robert Tyran welcomed the guests in the old chapel at the University Campus.
Lottelis Moser, Head of the International Office, hosted the Welcome Sessions. Her team was in charge of organizing the programme for the participants.
Clemens Bruckmann, Rectorate of the University introduced the international guests to the University’s Governance.
A presentation on Quality Management held by Michael Hofer, Head of Quality Management, offered a first introduction to the University’s organisational structure.
For the first time, the University’s Service Units welcomed their international colleagues and exchanged in different fields of work, such as Finance, Research Services, Human Resources, Corporate Communication, Facility and Resources Management, Quality and Assurance, etc.

Job shadowing possibilities provided the opportunity to evaluate processes and work on improvements in cooperation (Team International Cooperation and Higher Education Projects, International Office).
The participants of the of the Team Student Mobility at the International Office compared work flows and different processes in small groups.
Besides presentations, workshops, plenary sessions and discussions, the staff week’s programme consisted of university tours at the Astronomical Observatory.
Fabien Martins, administrative director of the Max F. Perutz Laboratories, showed the international guests around the Bio Center.
After the site visits at the Service Units all participants gathered and had final discussions and presentations about new valuable findings.
